Having included Pilates as an integral part of her own dance and health regimen, Garance received her Pilates mat and full equipment certification from the Kane School of Core Integration in New York City. The program gives specialized informations in anatomy, biomechanics, touch therapy and experience with all populations of people. Therefore Garance works with a wide variety of people from professional dancers or athletes to general population as well as injury recoveries. She likes to seek everyone's specific needs. Garance has also studied other movement modalities such as Gyrotonic® and Feldenkrais technique. She is also studying and gets inspired by the Axis Syllabus system as well as Fighting Monkey practice. She sometimes brings concepts from those in order to enrich her teaching. She likes to think of a tensegrity system when talking about the body and movements.

She also has completed FAMI course (Functional anatomy for movements and injuries) in Mount Sinai hospital in New York City and is also PMA certified (Pilates Method Alliance).

Garance has been working as a Pilates instructor at Equinox Fitness in New York City, Reequilibre Studio in Switzerland, Workout Berlin and The Base Pilates in Berlin as well as having her own private clients.

“I am offering private classes that focus on your own specific needs. We are all different and therefore need different things at different moments in time. We will talk about your fitness and health goals and the sessions will be orientated towards those.

Wether you are an athlete, a complete beginner, recovering from an injury etc I always adapt and go from where you are to bring you towards fitness progress and health!”

She is currently mainly offering online sessions

The sessions can be in English or French

What is movement?
This is a question I never ever thought of. Or at least not until I met Garance.

Prior to meeting her awareness, breath, proprioception, coordination and balance were just concepts for me. They were words I would sometimes hear from Pilates teachers during classes, which would somehow never materialise during the practice itself.

All of this changed when Garance and I started “moving” together in early 2019. Garance used her impeccable skill to see my body in its whole - how it coordinates, how it moves within spaces, how it sits, stands, falls and gets back up. My movement status quo was challenged and is challenged every day we work together, because I incorporate awareness, breath, proprioception, coordination and balance into it.

Garance is always prepared to incorporate your individual needs into the practice, but where she absolutely excels is her ability to teach you that you know best what is good for your body and mind at any given moment.

Through the years, with her mastery of Pilates, and her ability to incorporate , Feldenkrais, Qi Gong and other modalities into the practice, backed up by her anatomy and biomechanics training, Garance led me through a full body and mind transformation.

“Passion, Practice, Patience, Persistence “
4 words that perfectly defined Joseph Pilates’ method as well as Garance’s teaching.
In each private Pilates session, Garance guided me with kindness and precision. As an excellent listener, she took care of my problem or expectation. She corrected my posture with precise words and respectful touching.
After each session, I improved my strength and reduced my weakness. My body felt the workout, my mind was relaxed and my spirit was clear.
Garance’s smile and positive attitude are the icing on the cake.
I would recommend her skills and her personality to anyone!

Garance is a intuitive and amazing teacher. Her style of teaching allowed me to access all these new areas of my body that I hadn’t been able to tone before. I highly recommend her as a teacher, and can say that her knowledge has kept me pain free.

I have done 10 private pilates sessions with Garance. As an instructor, she guides the work in a pleasant, precise, and gentle manner.

I always leave each session with a stronger core, a stronger and more flexible back, and improved balance, which is very helpful for my professional artistic life as a Graham trained dancer.

My understanding of pilates has also improved under her guidance as she brings an in depth knowledge and keen eye about the practice particularly in relation to how it can improve the physical life of a dancer.

She is always open to feedback and any question that I may have and responds with generosity. I always look forward to my sessions with Garance.

After just a few sessions I noticed a remarkable difference in my posture and felt stronger.

As someone with a lower back injury I was very hesitant to try a new activity. From the work we did I was able to correct postural and alignment imbalances. My back pain has reduced substantially and I’m able to incorporate new exercises with confidence.

I’m so pleased with the results from working with Garance. I can’t believe how much stronger and more energized I feel.

Garance is a very knowledgeable and skilled practitioner. I highly recommend working with her.
